Jakarta – On Friday (03/05), the Binjai–Langsa Toll Road Project, specifically the Binjai–Stabat section, was awarded the "MADYA" Sustainable Construction Certification. This award signifies its successful implementation of sustainable construction principles as outlined in the Minister of PUPR Regulation No. 9 of 2021.
The Binjai–Stabat Toll Road is part of the Binjai–Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road development and has been designated as a pilot project for green construction practices by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Group. The project integrates 14 sustainable construction criteria, including energy conservation through the use of LED lighting, smart lamps, and solar cells, as well as water conservation with water-efficient sanitary systems and the use of solid sodding grass. Environmental preservation efforts are evident through tree planting and flowering shrub cultivation, alongside periodic environmental quality testing. Furthermore, the project demonstrates a commitment to environmental management by establishing facilities for liquid and solid waste management at project sites, office locations, and management areas. It also emphasizes the efficient use of resources, optimal land utilization, and social contributions to the local community.
This achievement underscores the project’s role as a model of sustainable construction, showcasing how infrastructure development can positively impact the environment and promote long-term sustainability.
