Jakarta – Throughout June 2025, HKI conducted a Tree Planting Movement around its project sites as part of the company’s commitment to ESG principles, particularly the environmental aspect. This initiative also represents HKI’s contribution to commemorating World Environment Day.
The types of trees planted included local and endemic species such as the andalas tree, endemic to West Sumatra; the kerinci pine from Jambi; the matoa tree from Papua and Maluku; and the pulai tree. In addition, HKI planted other species that serve as shade, pollution absorbers, and erosion control, such as ketapang kencana, tabebuya, cemara udang, and mahogany. Several fruit-bearing trees were also planted, including lime, mango, longan, and water apple.
The trees were planted in areas in need of reforestation, including former excavation sites, riverbanks, city and village parks, schools, Islamic boarding schools, places of worship, and toll road rest areas. This initiative is part of HKI’s efforts to restore, maintain, and provide new life to the environment.
Through this movement, HKI also involved project employees to promote a sense of environmental awareness. This activity reflects HKI’s tangible action in supporting ESG principles and environmental sustainability.
