Palembang – PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) terus mempercepat pembangunan Jalan Tol Trans Sumatera (JTTS), salah satunya mainroad Jalan Tol Palembang-Betung Seksi 3 sepanjang 14 km, yang menghubungkan Pangkalan Balai hingga Betung, Sumatra Selatan. Hingga akhir Juli 2025, progres pembangunan telah mencapai 21%. Lingkup pekerjaan HKI pada proyek ini meliputi pengerjaan mainroad, struktur pileslab, overpass dan jembatan underpass.
Director of Operations III, Aditya Novendra Jaya, said that this toll road is not just a construction project, but part of HKI's efforts to provide reliable infrastructure and direct benefits to the community. “We are applying digital construction technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and electricity density gauge (EDG) to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work,” he explained. This project also uses load scanners and photogrammetry for efficient material volume measurement.
Several points in this project have challenging swampy terrain. For this reason, HKI implemented technical solutions with design modifications using pile slab construction with a combination of spun pile and bore pile foundations. Thus, the road structure remains stable and sturdy on soft ground.
Not only does it bring benefits through the road that has been built, this project also has a positive socio-economic impact, involving 50% local workers. “In addition, the implementation of this project also brings economic turnover for business owners due to the spending activities of workers around the project,” added Aditya.
Once the Palembang-Betung Section 3 Toll Road is operational, the journey from Pangkalan Balai to Betung, which currently takes around 45 minutes via the national road, can be cut to just 10 minutes via the toll road. This toll road access will support the smooth distribution of logistics, facilitate community mobility, and drive economic growth in the South Sumatra region.
“We believe that the progress of a nation begins with the ease of infrastructure access. Therefore, we are very optimistic that the Palembang-Betung Toll Road Section 3 will become a catalyst for regional economic growth. We ask for the prayers and support of the community so that we can build this toll road well,” concluded Aditya.
As part of its ongoing commitment, HKI is also working on a number of other JTTS sections, including the Betung-Jambi Toll Road Sections 1 and 2, the Pekanbaru Ring Road Toll Road, and the Palembang-Betung Structure Toll Road (Palembang junction extension). This is in line with the Indonesian President's Asta Cita (Eight Goals) number 3 (three), which is to increase quality employment, encourage entrepreneurship, develop creative industries, and continue infrastructure development.
