Jakarta Ahead of the 2023 Eid Mudik season, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) has ensured that several sections of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) are ready for travelers. Not only have the operational toll sections been prepared, but several sections of the JTTS will also be made available for functional use during the holiday season. Two of these sections, being constructed by PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI), are the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Section 2 (Stabat – Tanjung Pura) and the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road.
The Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Section 1 (Binjai-Stabat) toll road, spanning 12 km, was operational in 2022. This year, the continuation of the Binjai-Stabat Toll Road, Stabat-Kuala Bingai (7.2 km), will be made available for functional use during Eid.
As of April 7, 2023, the construction progress for the Stabat-Kuala Bingai section has reached 95%, and it is expected to be ready for use on April 15, 2023. "HKI is also working on the toll gates and gate offices located on Proklamasi Street, Desa Kuala Bingai, Stabat, Langkat District, which will be operational during the Eid season," said Aji Prasetyanti, President Director of HKI. Travelers will be able to access the toll road from Medan–Binjai, which connects with the Binjai-Stabat Toll Road, to the Stabat-Kuala Bingai section.
The 64.5 km-long Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road will also be fully functional, including two rest areas at Km 56: one on Route A (towards Prabumulih) and one on Route B (towards Palembang). "At each rest area, HKI is constructing several public facilities, including a mosque, food court, clinic, workshop, commercial buildings, and restrooms," added Aji. The functional facilities will include a mosque with 4 restrooms and wudu areas, as well as a food court with 7 women's restrooms and 5 men's restrooms.
The Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road is designed for a maximum speed of 100 km/h and features two interchanges: the Indralaya Interchange and the Prabumulih Interchange, along with a toll gate located in Desa Karangan, Kapak Tengah District, Prabumulih City. During the Eid Mudik, travelers will also be able to use the Palembang-Indralaya toll road, which connects with the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road.
Currently, HKI is also working on several other sections of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), including the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road and the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road. For non-JTTS projects, HKI is handling the SMO Construction Services project in PHR Riau, the Callender Hamilton (CH) Bridge Replacement in Java, and the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Gending-Besuki Section II.
