Jakarta – On Friday (December 12), PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program at Rumah Singgah Sahabat, involving representatives from the company’s head office. This program reflects HKI’s commitment to providing sustainable social care, particularly in the health and humanitarian sectors, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3, which focuses on healthy and prosperous lives under the social pillar.
During the activity, HKI delivered medical supplies and essential goods to children with cancer and other chronic illnesses staying temporarily at Rumah Singgah Sahabat. Around 24 patients, ranging from toddlers to teenagers, are temporarily residing there. The assistance provided included vitamins, medications, medical equipment, specialized infant formula, and other supportive items essential for the patients' treatment and recovery process.
Rumah Singgah Sahabat is a non-profit social foundation that consistently offers support and assistance to child patients and their families or caregivers, especially those who come from outside Jakarta to receive treatment at national referral hospitals. Most of the patients come from underprivileged families who require not only medical support but also psychological and emotional support.
In addition to the donation, HKI employees also interacted directly with the patients and their families, offering moral support and encouragement to help them stay strong during their treatment. HKI also arranged an entertainment session featuring a magic show for the children. Employee involvement in this activity is part of the company's efforts to foster empathy, social responsibility, and humanitarian values within the workplace.
“Through this activity, we hope that HKI’s presence can provide real benefits, not only in the form of material assistance but also emotional support for the child patients and their families. This event also serves as a platform for 16 HKI employees to develop empathy and social concern for others,” said Philadelphia H.H.P., Secretary of HKI. Looking ahead, HKI will continue to run CSR programs focused on delivering sustainable benefits and making real contributions to communities in need.
