East Java – The joint operation (KSO) of PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI), PT Acset Indonusa Tbk (Acset), and PT Nindya Karya (NK) has successfully completed the construction of the Probolinggo–Banyuwangi Toll Road Section II in July. The 11.2-kilometer toll segment connects Kraksaan and Paiton, reducing travel time to just 10–15 minutes from the previous 30 minutes via the national road.
HKI’s Director of Operations III, Aditya Novendra Jaya, stated that the completion of this toll road will significantly enhance connectivity across East Java.
“In this section, the KSO HKI–Acset–NK has also completed the construction of a toll gate in Paiton to facilitate entry and exit, as well as the toll operation building,” he added.
“Pada tol ini, KSO HKI–Acset–NK juga telah menyelesaikan satu gerbang tol di Paiton sebagai akses keluar dan masuk, serta pembangunan gedung operasional tol,” imbuhnya.
Aditya further emphasized that the project upholds strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. One of the initiatives includes applying eco-friendly design concepts to the operational building. “At the Probolinggo–Banyuwangi Toll Road Section II project, we utilized wide glass openings to maximize natural lighting, which helps reduce electricity consumption significantly,” explained Aditya. environmental, social, and governance (ESG).
Beyond delivering high-quality infrastructure, the project has also brought tangible benefits to the local community — 75% of the workforce involved in construction were local residents. Once operational, the toll road will open new connectivity in East Java, supporting tourism growth and the development of local MSMEs.
The completion of this project reaffirms KSO HKI–Acset–NK’s commitment to developing toll road infrastructure that not only enhances mobility but also creates social, economic, and environmental value for communities. The project aligns with Presidential Asta Cita Point No. 3, which aims to create quality employment, foster entrepreneurship, strengthen the creative industry, and advance infrastructure development.
