- Consists of at-grade construction with flexible pavement spanning 58 km, while the remaining sections are elevated structures including pile slabs and bridges.
- Utilized geofoam expanded polystyrene (EPS) on one of the bridge approaches to mitigate settlement.
- Employed Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) with preloading in soft soil areas.
- Part of the road is built over swampy terrain.
The toll road structure consists of 58 km of at-grade construction with flexible pavement, with the rest being elevated structures such as pile slabs and bridges. An innovation applied in this project is the use of geofoam expanded polystyrene (EPS) on one of the bridge approaches to mitigate settlement, intended to replace heavy embankment materials behind the approach.
In soft soil locations, the Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) system combined with preloading accelerates consolidation, thereby improving soil bearing capacity. Preloading also serves as a ground treatment. Pile slabs are used in swampy and waterlogged areas. At several work sites, HKI implemented a pile slab structural system along with engineered work methods to address challenges posed by high water levels.
