• The Pekanbaru-Dumai Rest Area Facilities adopt the iconic Riau Malay architectural elements, featuring the Selembayung Roof and Sopi-Sopi Malay carvings.

There are ten rest areas built by HKI, spaced approximately 20 to 30 kilometers apart. Five rest areas are located on route A (Pekanbaru-Dumai) and route B (Dumai-Pekanbaru) at Km 14+500 A & B, Km 45+200 A, Km 46+050 B, Km 65+000 A & B, Km 82+300 A & B, and Km 15+200 A & B from the Dumai direction. HKI developed two types of rest areas: Type A and Type B. Type A rest areas include public restrooms, mosques, food courts, MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) stalls, minimarkets, parking areas for small and large vehicles, and ready-to-build zones for gas stations and premium commercial areas. Meanwhile, type B rest areas offer the same facilities as Type A, except without the ready-to-build zones for gas stations and premium commercial areas.
