Jakarta – In celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1443 Hijriah and as a form of social responsibility towards local communities, PT Hutama Karya Infrastructure (HKI) through its HKI Peduli program provided donations and dozens of iftar meal packages to orphanages and foundations for orphaned children near the company's headquarters and its project sites.
The donation distribution and iftar activities were carried out from April 20-24, 2022, in areas surrounding the toll road projects worked on by HKI, including the Pekanbaru – Bangkinang Toll Road Project, Bengkulu – Taba Penanjung Toll Road Project, Indralaya – Prabumulih Toll Road Project, Binjai – Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road Project, and Padang – Sicincin Toll Road Project.
Rian Hari Anggoro, Corporate Secretary of HKI, stated that the donation and iftar events are part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. "These donations and iftar activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan are a form of HKI's commitment to adding value to the community," he said.
The donations and iftar activities at the project sites were represented by each project's team and received by local community representatives, in accordance with health protocols.
Meanwhile, similar events at the company's headquarters included donations and an iftar gathering at the Baitul Qur'an Orphanage in Cijantung, East Jakarta on Wednesday (20/04). The event was attended by Selo Tjahjono, Director of Operations III at HKI, along with department heads and employees from the headquarters.
Selo Tjahjono, Director of Operation III at HKI, explained that the donations to the orphans aim to assist the local community and serve as a manifestation of HKI's concern for those in need. "We hope that these donations will be beneficial to the children at the Baitul Qur'an Orphanage and represent HKI’s concern for the communities around the headquarters and project sites," he said.
Looking ahead, HKI will continue its efforts to bring goodness to the wider community through infrastructure development and other initiatives that promote positive social impact, including CSR activities.
