Jakarta – As the year draws to a close, PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) has completed several sections of the Trans Sumatera Toll Road (JTTS). As of the third quarter of 2022, HKI has finished the construction of the Binjai-Stabat Toll Road (12 km), Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road (17 km), and Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road (31 km).

The JTTS sections currently under construction by HKI include the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Zona II-IV (Stabat-Pangkalan Brandan) Toll Road (46 km), with 48.88% progress as of October 2022; the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road (65 km) with 84.80% progress as of October 2022; and the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang STA 0+000 – 9+000 (9 km) Toll Road, with 86.25% progress as of October 2022.

To accelerate fieldwork completion, HKI has applied various construction methods and special technologies in the JTTS projects, such as using the MMGPS Topcon autolevel tool in the Indralaya-Prabumulih Zone 6 project and the EDG soil compaction tool in the Binjai-Brandan Zone 4 project.

For 2023, HKI is focused on completing the aforementioned JTTS sections, with the Indralaya-Prabumulih section expected to be completed by March 2023.

The challenges in completing these sections of the JTTS vary. In the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Zona II-IV project, HKI faces challenges related to soil anomalies, extreme contours, and high rainfall. Meanwhile, in the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road project, HKI must address issues related to the extensive swampy land and soft soil at the end of the alignment.

Regarding HKI's future involvement in JTTS development, according to President Director of HKI, Aji Prasetyanti, the company is focusing on several continuation sections of the JTTS.
